Interesting insight into Kenyan history, in Krapf's book, he describes them as looking very Somali-like and inhabited regions in which the Maasai and Kikuyus live today, they worshipped 1 God and were pastoralists, and extremely warlike, to the point most groups in Kenya disliked them bar the Kikiyus who traded with them.

It looks like after they lost the war with the Maasai they got absorbed by the Kikuyus, who already adopted worshiping their God.

Edit:

"The "Kwavi" and "Lumbwa" terms are used to refer to Maa-speaking pastoral communities, particularly in Tanzania and southern Kenya, with "Kwavi" sometimes used as a synonym for "Baraguyu" and "Lumbwa" having a history of being used to describe a Kalenjin-speaking community or portions of the Loikop communities."

Some Masai and Samburu claim ancient Somali ancestry maternally. 🤣

As for this group, Somali-like is a loose term. Sounds like some lost south Cushitics

The Maasai-Samburu were literally just South Sudanese Nilotes that left Eastern Equatoria and absorbed Cushitic groups as they ventured further South

I know what they are but this what some of them claim based on a few old documentaries I saw of some Samburu and Masai elders being interviewed. Somali or Barbaroi ancient traders were famous since antiquity and Somalis are also known for their fighting skills, hence why a few groups claim links to Somalis.

the laikaipaik had subjected the rendille and made them tributaries and then when they wanted to force them to move the rendille rose up against them and drove them away, they went up north to southern Waamo and they fought the Borana and their hegemony, at Korondile they were defeated by the Worr Liban, this was before the Aji Somalis had crossed the Ganaane so the Boranes were still masters there. Ido Robleh, the chief of the wallemoge clan was wounded by an arrow there
