She's an agnostic (not open about it). One does not need to hold Jewish religious beliefs to be a Jew. It's an ethnic identity as well as religious.

i don't hold an interest nor much knowledge, but i believe they consider themselves a "race" because of some small population in "israel" thousands of years ago.
