What's genuinely wrong with a Somali wanting to be called a Somali strictly?

This complexion and features game isn't a good argument; Anyone from a mile away can detect the difference between a Somali and your average Niger-Congo individual and guess what there's nothing wrong with that, hell even amongst the horn Somalis are pretty distinct looking from others

Yea we overlap with other black groups but generally speaking I can usually tell us apart from other blacks.

Example: South Africans have similar features but they look distinct enough to know you're dealing with a different group.

Same thing applies to east Africans - horners included.

Also many Somalis have huge lips, just like our African neighbours, those who have medium sized lips, and jileec hair might find it hard to identify with our African neighbours feature wise, but the majority of Somalis would not.

I've noticed some try to deny the Somalinimo of some individuals because they don't have the typical Somali look, according to these sugo scientists any slight deviation in features means you might be mixed with our neighbours.

The only time you will be mistaken for anything other than African is when you have medium lips, jileec hair, typical Somali nose, and sometimes lightskin, and those ethnic Somalis are a minority.

No one denies that Somalis have big lips but our "madow hair" is usually type 3. The kinkiest Somalis get is 4a. Never seen a 4b or 4c Somali

Self hatred is an effect of colonisation, it’s a global phenomenon, which Somali too suffer from. Quite a few individuals on here suffer from it, bit sad really. In saying that, there is nothing wrong with identifying with your ethnic group, the “black & white” label is a construct created by the colonial powers.i could understand it been your identity if your ancestors were slaves, but if you know your lineage and you choose to do so, whilst disregarding your people, culture and ancestors. There are many Somalis that get confused with darker South Asians when they have jileec hair and smaller faruuro and the typical Somali san in the West.

People tend to think they are are either mixed or just dark skinned South Asians, in the West.
