The Donbass was conquered by Russia in the 18th Century

Even a huge portion of Western Ukraine (Volhynia and Eastern Galicia) was annexed from Poland and given to Ukraine by the Soviet Union

Poltava is also a mid-sized city in today's Ukraine, it's the place where the legendary decisive battle took place between the Russian empires Peter the Great and Sweden's Charles XII, finally putting an end to the Great Northern War.

I'm surprised the Poles don't push to get Galacia back, perhaps they don't want to deal with the push back.
