We do have many problems but Somali men are the least misogynist men in the Muslim world.
A Somali woman that talks ill about her countrymen for Western sympathy is not a shock. Is more of an expected reaction. I see this became more of a trend amongst third world Muslim countries that abuse patriarchy.

The data for Somalia by so called aid groups or NGOs is unreliable.
I have worked for them back in Somalia and have personally witnessed how they exaggerate data, use extremely small sample sizes, manipulate participants and often blatantly lie in order to raise funding from foreign donors or to cook the books. Everything is painted as being disastrous so that a few can milk funds raised. It’s a whole industry.
Until we have a stable government and functional institutions with the capacity to carry research independently, any data/conclusions coming from these biased organisations should be treated as hearsay.
