Came across the Mahfouz clan as his Yemeni/Saudi clan cousins tested on FTDNA belong to the same T-Y16897 lineage.

Off topic, where did the myth that you guys are of South Asian origin come from?

It's not a myth they just confused us with Ahmed omar Warsangali who turned out to belong to haplogroup R1b. We actually had our own flying carpet story we believed that we are the the descendants of Khalid bin Al Waleed

23andme is much better than ancestry. Just be patient. It normally takes months. 23andme should give you your maternal and paternal haplogroups, also your ancestry break downs.

I think my kit got lost sxb, I would be fine waiting months if they had at least received it or I knew where the kit is, but I don't.

On the website, it says it could take upto 4 weeks to get to the lab, but it's been over 4 weeks now.

I'm gonna wait till the end of March and if it's still asking me to send my kit, I'm gonna ask for a refund.

Their results may be reliable but the process is annoying.
