You don’t know that, but I do. I studied a lot of this stuff. Somaliland can take over Puntland but not vice versa, of course is not gonna be easy and would require full effort and United front and strong leadership
FYI I am not advocating for violence just speculating
It's not about retaking LA, Puntland can do that with the utmost ease. The difficulty is maintaining a working administration. There's a lot of internal power struggle and Puntland is seen as an ally of the most dominant faction.

The last week war showed that Puntland is militarily superior than SL in Sool and SL was close to being wiped out if it wasn't for Jamac Siyad militia that saved their asses. As soon as JS entered battlefield, PL stopped their attack as they don't want to lose the hearts and minds of certain Dhulbahante.
Puntland needs a different mindset if they want to take LA. They shouldn't view it as a liberation but conquering land from opposing factions whether they are Harti or shisheeye.

Last week war showed that despite 4 months of planning, coordinating, gathering of intelligence, weapons , and supplies Puntland still failed to accomplish their main objective, capture of Tukaraq.
All reports indicate that initially, Puntland’Southern flank( Hawd Side) was successful but immediate reinforcement from SL troops stationed Back rendered that attack useless.
Mahad Canbaashe captured the tank and killed the POWs as previously reported but now they are denying and saying Jamac Siyaad had nothing to do with capturing of the tank or killing of the prisoner of war.
All in all, War was costly for Both sides particularly Puntland since they lost a lot of men for no gain, whatsoever.
Militarily speaking Puntland has the home field advantage because of the location(deep within Harti land)Obvious divisions within SL lines, all those should translate to victory for Puntland yet it hasn’t .
That is a failure imo.
The truth is ina abti that if Somaliland were to invade and colonize all of Puntland. Puntland and it's people would cry to the U.N which would affect our recognition and also, sanction us but your right Somaliland does have the capability of doing that.
Somaliland can even capture and destroy Garowe with eas but that would damage our reputation to the world leaders so Muuse Biixi will play smart by closing the borders of Bari and Nugaal very soon after Ramadan ends, inshallah.
The reality is the border is 5 miles outside garowe...if we want to secure the border your going to have to ANNEX garowe. That's a fact.

Taani, is in Soil and was in Tukaraq the day the fight took place. PLs highest general, gen Siciid Dheere is not leading the forces. Col. Carays is still guarding the southern front in Mudug. Believe me if PL brought its best those two would be in Tukaraq.
SL is chased out of Tukaraq, that's indication who won the first round.

Again, if we attack Garowe then our reputation by the world leaders will be ruined since we are known to be a peaceful and kind nation and it will affect our quest for recognition so it's not worth it.
Somaliland simply needs to build multiple military bases in eastern Sanaag and eastern Sool to secure the eastern borders of Somaliland. It's that simple since we have a much bigger and equipped army of course.

Over the past few months Puntland only reinforced their position outside Tukaraq but it was Somaliland who was quick to attack the encroaching forces and expecting no response which has resulted in them losing the town which is now controlled by neither party as well as 3 times the number of Puntland. A major factor for Puntland's unusual response was that it was Jeegaan troops including their leader Mr Tani who conspicuously fled to Laascaanood as soon as the battle began.
But @Abdalla point still stands, if it wasn't for the Laascaanood reinforcements the Jeegaan troops would have been wiped out and sent to an early grave along with their commander Colonel Daauud ala yaraxma. That's when the battle came to an end hence the positive response from the Jamac Siyad elders.

You're speaking of outrage about a supposed tank that was lost, yet there's not a shred of evidence that the said community is mourning.
