Somaliland has lost the initiative and was shown resolve. Puntland is more than capable of waging war on a single front. Puntland now has a serviceable road that goes to Badhan, the focus should be on extending that road past Yubbe. This will make it easier to move troops from Bari into Sanaag quickly when that front becomes active.

Having the support of the locals is important, but what is even more important is developing the logistics necessary to operate in such a large front.

It's not about retaking LA, Puntland can do that with the utmost ease. The difficulty is maintaining a working administration. There's a lot of internal power struggle and Puntland is seen as an ally of the most dominant faction.

It all depends on whether PL is willing to divert lots of financial resources (read: bribe money) and development from already loyal areas to Dhullo areas in eastern SSC.

That's the reality. Your political elite will have to soon have to decide if it is worth it.

SL has been shouldering the brunt of that burden for more than 10 years and has nothing really to show for it in my opinion.

To be quite honest with you, the only Dhullos who fought on SL side were Jamaac Siyaad. Rest are either pro PL or unaligned.

We got ambushed and intelligence failed. The allegations that are going around is that Dhullos that declared for the SL side turned traitor and actually shot some of our troops in the back. That is why they were able to get commanders.

By the way, it is Ramadan. Not cool to laugh at families loosing breadwinners.

Whatever you might think, the SL soldiers were just following orders. Most of them were just there to feed families, same on the PL side.
