If you want to keep them in the country then there should be protectionist laws that would preserve Somali dominance and prioritize Somali interest. Laws such as making it illegal for Ethiopians or even just point blank non-Somalis to own land in Somalia, not allowed to participate in our political process and have a set cap for their financial contribution/donation into Somali politics.

The only non-ethnic Somalis that wouldn't be affected by this would be Somali bantus and cadcads that have been around for hundreds of years and have been Somalianized.

This post is so disingenuous, so the “poor Muslim” card is only reserved for Oromos, but what about Somali citizens? Do the citizens of Jubbaland and KGS deserve to live in states with Isbaaro and sh*bab? Is that their fault? When were the actions of Madoobes charcoal trade representative for everyone? Somali citizens are trying to make a living in their country while facing all these issues. If anyone’s a poor Muslim, it’s the average Somali citizen. They’ve lived in a country without relative peace. At least Abiy Ahmed controls his capital city, and there’s peace there. Peaceful muslims can find sanctuary in our lands when we are at peace. This thread is about Puntland, which is dealing with Is*s, not sh*bab , and the majority of the foot soldiers in is*s are foreigners, not ethnic Somalis. I'd urge Somalis to keep an eye on groups such as Jaarso, Akisho and others who are used to change politics and demographics in border areas. Interestingly enough, these compromised groups are the ones who love to migrate to Isaaq/Dir lands and those are the areas earmarked for Ethiopia's new 'navy'.

These border clans are usually genetically 100% Somali but were oromoized hundreds of years ago since historically Oromos would fight and slay them and then later on force them to be part of Afan Oromo. Burton even mentions about whole clans being forced to be absorbed. I have a Somali friend who is fully Somali but has family that live in the border but were oromoized despite having clear Somal abtirsi.
