I never knew how good the Amhara subjugation of the Oromo was. I had a patient the other day a 86 year old Oromo lady who was admitted for high blood pressure. I asked her this Oromo girl who floated to my unit if she could translate after I asked her if she was Oromo she said she didn't speak any Oromo also many of the Oromos don't like to discuss what ethnicity they are they are almost embarrassed about it.

Years of oppressions has made victim mentality a genetic trait of Oromos. Oromo chrisrians are all ashamed of their oromo ancestry and they wish they were amhara while we have dudes like Jawar Mohammed trying to groom and convince oromo muslim that Oromo Nationalism is the way. Oromo nationalism is only an excuse and a way of controlling Oromo Muslims. Oromo Muslims. Oromo muslims and christians should have the same relationship as Tigrayans and eritrean tigrinyans. Hararghe Muslims to should redopt their somali heritage and I am taking about Nolle, Akisho and Jarso and some hawiye clans like Karanle.

I mean I understand Oromo was banned for a long time by successive Ethiopian governments but they could learn to speak it.
The only Oromos who have lost their language and mainly speak Amharic are those in Finfinne and some living in Wallo and far up in Rayya Tigray. No Oromo is ashamed. The one who are “ashamed” as most likely pro Ethiopia but still claim Oromo. It’s only when they’re a mix of Oromo and Amhara were one will find the lost cause and doesn’t claim Oromo.
sounds like an overgeneralization, since you may have met with, and interacted with less than 1 percent of the overall oromo population. some don't speak it, true, but i'm sure there's many somali who don't speak afaan somali either.... then, many oromo speak multiple languages. my dad spoke afaan oromo, amharic, somali, english and some arabic. most of my cousins speak at least 2 ethiopian languages, some speak more... etc etc
and when you say enslaved by amhara, remember today somalia is being colonized by the white man once again, immediately white troops are being resent back to mogadishu, kenyan troops there, ethio troops there, etc etc... in other words, you guys have a huge mess to clean, so i'd worry more about that, than oromo's problems.

Are you talking about those training federal troops and I've met Oromos who if I ask of they are Oromo will deny it or say they don't want to talk about ethnicity only for me to later found out they are Oromo they are ashamed of being Oromo and if they speak many languages they were forced to speak Amharic.
