We have all heard family members who have stayed here for decades say they wish to go home permanently. They are tired of the grind and stress of Western culture and want to be among their own people and country. But the likes of @Exodus would say they’re stupid for thinking that way.

I feel you huno but if i was you i'd go there on a holiday just to scope it. Only two things i dislike about back home, 1. bugs are everywhere especially cockroaches lol and 2. there are too many domestics, they have so much time on their hands ayagay isku mashquulaan.

The lifestyle and opportunity we have in the west is unimaginable. So many people from South America, Africa, and Asia risk their lives everyday to get to the west illegally. Personally I’d rather live back home cause I didn’t grow up here. It’s hard to be happy in a place you weren’t born and raised

The West is a miserable place walaal. All the cadaans here are on antidepressants for a reason. Meanwhile us immigrants have to struggle to get into the middle class and even then you’ll always be considered a foreigner even when you were born here.
People outside the West have no idea how terrible it really is. I can’t believe they drown themselves on boats and migrate thousands of miles just to be here. Our only purpose is to work and support the aging cadaan population. It’s all a scam.

Yes it's a ruthless society here. If you don't make it, you can easily find yourself trapped in poverty or the criminal justice system. Somalis rely on each other and open businesses and have a good work ethic. That's how we manage to stay afloat here. But for cadaans and African Americans, those are the ones you mostly see standing out on the street homeless. Their families don't support them through a financial crisis or drug addiction. I feel bad for African Americans. They didn't ask to be brought here and seem to be stuck in endless poverty and discrimination.

Life in Somalia is much more precarious. Those guys do not have health insurance, no unemployment insurance, get paid very low wages, have practically no disposable income, have to deal with political instability/terrorism/warlords. Only benefit they have over the West is the social aspect (more of a community vibe) and the weather, but IMO that does not make up for all those other risks.
