It depends which parts of Somalia. Jubaland and Benadir are war fields with constant Al Qaashin bombing however Puntland is mostly chill and so is Somaliland.

They then cross the Mediterranean and risk having their Boats capsize.


Forget about that, 67% of the population is Illiterate.

Unemployment is 50%, The government is the weakest in the world.

There are the risks of Terrorism and Famine.


You live in the west with everything you need at hand. Depression this, Exhaustion that are just 1st World problems with easy solutions.

The only way you can live a decent life in Somalia is by leeching off people in the west or somehow starting off with money to start a business (corruption and dirty money is common).

Somalia is very poor. Don’t you dare even try making your Western abode seem like hell

Personally I can only stay there during summers (vacation), I can’t imagine living there. Be thankful. My parents took me there from the age of 9 every summer until I was 17. It changed my perspective immensely.

this is a very privileged mentality. our parents worked very hard to raise us in (relatively) safe countries and hopefully get good educations that lead a good life. it would be nice to go back and live a "simpler" life (a bit condescending, no?) but remember the things you take for granted here.
