Pm Hamse Abdi Barre to visit Laas Anod SSC-Khatumo

HSM will definitely do this. He doesn't need puntland or Jubbaland now. Dude is just gonna push through his plans.

Everythig is moving faster and faster.
HSM is forcing a 1m1v election by trying to forcefully bypass Baydhabo, Kismaayo, Jowhar, Dhuusemareeb, Garoowe but unfortunately for him the IC is not buying that. Time has run out and HSM knows that.

What happened to the conference he was told to make? HSM is completely crazy now. He will start a war even.

@Itsnotthateasy Deadline is June. He has to hold it but he is trying to avoid it by any means necessary. This is why he is desperately pushing these 1m1v elections lately kkkk. He also doesn’t want Madoobe, LG, QQ, Guudlaawe to attend the conference as he believes their mandate as governors is expired and in the case of Madoobe it was an illegal doorosho.

HSM has been politically assassinated. He can’t hold 1m1v in Baydhabo so he is trying to hold it in Baraawe. He can’t hold it in Kismaayo so he is trying to hold it in Gedo. Can’t hold it in Garoowe so he is trying to hold it in Las Anod etc.

Meanwhile FMS leaders want the conference to be led by the IC (James Swan) and not HSM. Madoobe wants HSM to recognise his elections in Kismaayo as a legit election and that the FGS seeks forgiveness for the Ras Kiyambooni fiasco before attending this conference. Deni + Madoobe also refuse to sit on the table with GL, QQ, LG whose mandate expired.

Bullish for Somalia. Hawiye/Isaaq was a marriage of convenience since Isaaq (mistakenly) believed Hawiye would actually let them secede if they were in power. Since that has not happened allying with PL/Daarood is a next best step as they at least have a shared interest in preventing centralization in Mogadishu. Either way, it’s a good thing that Dir Waqooyi votes will no longer be used to prevent Somalia from moving forward.

Hassan really isn’t that politically astute. He spent his whole term trying to push through a pointless constitution instead of focusing on SSC+Maakhir and helping them to form a FMS. That could’ve been an easy way to upgrade Banaadir’s status with little pushback while also putting pressure on Somaliland. I get why he was hesitant to provoke them pre-MOU but there’s no reason to be playing nice anymore, unless he secretly believes they’re going back to afisiyooni and wants the Dir votes 😂😂😂 (hint: they won’t be enough)
He had to do it for free 😂. I know he’s burning inside the stupid idiot. Banaadir statehood is probably the only thing I care about in Somali politics and he fumbled the best chance in a while to make it happen.

The good news is that banaadir statehood (as an instrument to weaken the FGS) would also be in the interest of any Daarood president, but wow HSM is an idiot.

Somalia previous elections was based on 4.5 clan parliament split. All the clans get x amount of seats. The voting is done anonymously so nobody knows for certain how each person let alone whole clan voted it’s all guessing

Somali elections are secret ballot so no one really knows but if Faisal is to be believed the handpicked Isaaq MPs should be voting in a way that benefits SL. That might not be the case since there’s a lot of $$$ in elections, but it’s good that they no longer believe they can influence the Xamar gov to the same extent as before.

So what does ways that benefit SL look like? Basically the irir alliance? How much votes do they have? Regardless I welcome this new development if it actually happens.
