It's obv the third world mentality of letting society raise the child and going for quantity over quality that's to blame. Somalis really need to start valuing integration into the countries they move to in the west.

These parents mostly came to the US with less than a high school diploma yet survived through challenges and overcame barriers on their own. Through poverty, confusion, depression and uncertainties, they secured a foundation for their children who went on to colleges and became professionals.

can confirm it’s the same in Canada. Just in my neighborhood a few weeks ago some useless father who was away from his family for 13 years came back to visit the kids like everything was normal. His son refused to talk to him and baba acted all shocked

One piece of advice I give to the women in my family who plan on getting married is to make sure the man they marry loves children. My father loves kids whether they’re his own children, nieces and nephews, or even the children of family friends. My dad worked long hours, but he still found a way to be heavily involved in our life.

The only way we can stop this is to break the cycle.

To any of you planning on having children, BE PRESENT IN THEIR LIVES.

Be involved in their upbringing, their school life, extra-curricular, etc.

Do not just let your daughters clean after your sons - whoever eats from their plate should wash their own plates, except if you are alone in the house or some other scenario - in that case, wash all the plates!

Teach your children and yourselves some personal responsibility!

Do not leave it to Somali Mothers!
