But most of the time when they're conducting business outside of somali they still use English.

It ain’t rocket science there’s a huge diaspora surely they could find one guy to translate. They already do it at the hospital for 20 bucks an hour.

You can find qualified translators for English arabic, maybe Spanish and a few more languages but how are you going to service all the other languages, the translation needs to be seamless. It's starts to become very convoluted.

I'm talking about Somali diaspora here in Minnesota. There are hundreds of translators that serve the fresh Somali immigrants here. What's hard to understand about that? It's surely better than struggling in the assembly room. All Hamza needed was a one-to-one Somali-to-English translator. Instead due to his hubris, we got this embarrassing moment. The "It's not his native tongue" excuse can work if you're some Joe Schmo but not when you hold one of the highest positions in a country.

1. The UN isnt your run of the mill doctors office where you just need someone who knows both langauges, you need qualified translators. Read my post its easy to find English, arabic and maybe spanish translators but you must provide translation for mutliple languages if you chose to use a non-UN language. Unfortunately the last time he spoke arabic but he got rebuked for it, but I'd prefer he spoke in that language as he is much more fluent.
