President Farmaajo speaking the truth.

He should have made that distinction by only calling the young fighters "brothers" that have no other choice rather than calling everyone from AS "brothers". Many people will now mis-interpret his speech, he needs to be careful with his speeches.

I don't see a difference? It's the young footsoldiers blowing themselves up among civilians.

It's a strategy, anything including "looking bad" to some is worth it if it gets rid of them or degrades their numbers and save lives.

You guys have to look at this from a different angle, I think Farmaajo has realized that you cannot go on a full scale war against Al-shabaab.

The thing is that the people that are members of Al-Shabaab are funded with weapons and other goods, they also go to villages and forcefully take some of the livestock from families and other goods. They are living comfortably compared to other struggling families in the villages who rely on a monthly handout from their diasporan relatives.

Farmaajo is probably doing all this to lower their guard and appeal to their members who joined them only out of financial interests and also the youth who were forced to join the cult. I think in the coming months he is gonna try to negotiate and offer a better life to the members and once Al-Shabaab weakens then he might plan to wipe out their stronghold and capture/execute their leaders.

You guys just don't understand, Al-Shabaab members blend in with your average civilians during the day and they raid/attack/pillage during the night.
How can you fight an enemy whom you can't pinpoint their location, no even knows the leaders whereabouts. Pretty sure he is trying to bait them out but at this point we are all waiting for actions and are tired of hearing all this talk.

Allahu A'lam..
