Why hasn't puntland hold election?

According to @Armadillo there is no need to because they are a majority, which of course begs the question, why you so afraid of elections if you make up the majority? especially when you have the audacity to criticise the central government for this?

There's no elections being held because Puntland holds elections every five years. Gas assumed presidency in 2014. If you could count, you'd know his term is due to end in 2019. Then anyone and everyone can run for president.

They are onto something if there was census data and all Somalis were registered in their respective regions. This should be done in the future so money can be distributed accordingly. I didn't read the article but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and they believe they are more numerous than other Somalis but used the wrong language.

In a functional federal system, states wield power based on population when it comes to investment.

Any state party to a federal system can argue for more funding based on their population. Just because they are arguing for it is not grounds for dismissal. Farmaajo can use this as a teaching moment and argue for his government's stance and justification. All will be settled. I was pointing that out to inquisitive_. It should not be always about clan but about merits of the argument if one is presented. Somalis will always represent their mini Gods, waa ummad diin aan lahayn other than Qabiil, so you address them as logically as you can.
