I don’t understand, how can they hold two elections? Did it take place in the city council or a small private room. And Mustaqbal showed to be a fake party that can easily be bought.

With this being the first Local District Council election, there was a flaw where instead of the mayor being elected by the people, it was designed for the party with the majority votes to seat their candidate, but no party secured majority large enough to seat their mayoral candidate.

Then, coalition is expected to form. The rule of forming coalition is the party with the largest votes is granted the initial whip to form, and if they fail, the 2nd party tries. Locals neither understand the rules, nor agree insofar as moving to seat a mayor without meeting the most fundamental quorum criterion.

That’s how multiparty system works. Largest party has the initiative to form a coalition but under the supervision of a third party. In Europe, the mayor is appointed and is above the parties. He’s the one that facilitates the negotiations between the parties. At national level a seasoned public servant/retired politician is appointed by the King to facilitate the process of forming coalition.

Only way I see is to take away all powers from Deni and give him tactical mandate to organize 1m1v no later than march 2023. This Bosaso fiasco showed us that Deni is anti-democratic, he can’t be trusted with this process. 66 fartaag is not an option, we are very close to getting free elections, but madman Deni needs to be restrained. This time I’m blaming him!

Agreed. It makes sense to you & I, for we have seen it in action, but the locals have no clue, and where they suspect unjust process, perceived or otherwise, their backs truss up as if a squirrel on heat with a pair of balls large enough to smash a watermelon to smithereens, ergo what is on display.

Besides the obvious disagreements, I do not actually have the inside details of what transpired in Bosaso, and as to the root cause of the divergence amongst communities.

The state minister of interior proved to be more powerful in this regards compared to the actual minister. Deni needs to be put on a leash, give him a technical extension of 2 months to organize the elections. He is now the most dangerous obstacle to 1M1V.
