After President Deni officially opened the examinations he’s heading on his first tour of Mudug since being elected and is heading to Gaalkacyo.

Just to recap, last month, FGS education minister Goodax demanded that Puntland take part in the FGS exams instead of holding our own. Puntland has been holding exams since the early 2000s (with zero leaks) while the FGS only started their exams a few years ago. Goodax arrogantly threatened Puntland parents by telling them that their children's diplomas would not be recognized and that they would not be considered for international scholarships allocated to Somalia.

Puntland's Minister of Education responded to Goodax's threats by pointing out that he doesn't have an office and that his exams can be purchased in the streets of Mogadishu.

This week, in this blessed month of Ramadan, Allah has punished Goodax for his hubris and shown him his place.

Students writing the FGS exams had completed six of their exams with four remaining when the Biology and English exams began circulating online on Monday. The FGS education minister Goodax cancelled the exams and scheduled a retake for later this month. Mogadishu plans on shutting off the internet for the entire country from May 27-31 as students retake their exams.

Even Amnesty International is shocked at Goodax and Nabar iyo Naxdin's incompetence.

Amnesty International deputy regional director for East Africa Seif Magango said it was wrong for the government to subject the whole country to a social media shut down ‘after failing its duty’.

“It is ridiculous that the government would consider shutting down social media communications for the entire country after failing in its duty to secure the content of exam papers,” said Magango.

You have so much cuqdad it’s disturbing, Puntland has and will continue to have the best education system in Somalia. I’d be salty too if my exams were cancelled but this isn’t the thread for your unfortunate situation.

MashaAllah good work from PL. What i specially like is how modest our girls are dressed nowadays in school and that girls and boys are more or less separated. Education is states affair even in loose federalism systems like Germany, so this shouldn't be even a debate.

because we are smarter. lool just kidding. my neigbor who was about to drop out of uni this untill i helped him pay off his tuition ended up getting 13 A's and 1 b+. hes proppably going to be on that list.

Somali certificate is recognized as a shitty O Level degree.

You can't get admitted to first year studies abroad while most African nations have no problem enrolling to undergraduate degrees in the UK

All of Somalia's education is shit and prepared abroad by Kenyans

Speak for yourself. Our curriculum and exams are prepared in Garowe.

We are not too concerned about international recognition at this time. We want our graduates staying in Puntland, not working abroad. We can worry about international recognition when we start producing research.
