The municipal government shut down the mosque due to zoning issues. They're fighting to get the law changed since it affects most religious centres in the city.

That is alshabab propaganda. That 'sheikh' was one of the masterminds behind the killing of a known Puntland scholar, Sh. Gacamey, who was fierce anti-Shabab. He was even arrested for few months in Bosaso but released due to clan politics.
