It's clear that Farmaajo chose for Qatar. By allowing isolated Qatar to fly over Somali airspace, in which they previously hardly made use of it, and refusing Saudis appeal, he chose by default for Qatar. This ' neutrality' is a charade.

He has no choice because the Turks are demanding from Farmajo to pick Qatar. He can't say no to the Turks.

Secret

UAE is a mini Indo/Pakistan.

The only alternative is Qatar to capitulate or a regime change and another coup d' etat in Qatar.

Interesting article on the historical evolution of the problems between Qatar and the Saudi axis.

I hardly doubt Turkey is pressuring anyone to pick Qatar. Turkey has a long term vision and foreign policy for Somalia. Remember when things soared badly between Egypt and Turkey but HSM still attended Sisi' s graduation?

Qatar financed Farmaajos campaign. It boils down to personal and political interests. In terms of real interest, we all know KSA and emirates are our biggest markets. As for Turkey, they won't tie their interests in Somalia with Qatar's reckless foreign policy.

live and let die.
I doubt that, but who knows what the future will bring.

Also why do the Saudis care to bug Somalia like this I mean isn't Oman neutral as well?

Because Somalia is one of the weakest countries in the world. If they go against your interests without repercussions, it says a hell of a lot about your power and influence as a world player. Besides, it's not like Saudi dedicated resources or money into beating Somalia. Whatever they were going to put in was an investment that meant more for Somalia than it did for Saudis. They can come back next year, and we'll pretend like the whole ordeal never took place.

It is too early to tell how this will work out but Erdogan has raised the tempo in defence of Qatar. Somalia sent a ministerial delegation to Riyadh to discuss economic cooperation. It indicates that they don't desperately need our support and they have Qatar by the balls. You have to understand this beef from a sectarian perspective. Qatar and Turkey are pro the Brotherhood, the Saudis, Emirates and Bahrain declared the Brotherhood to be terrorists. In 2014, Qatar was forced to relocate the Brotherhood leaders from Doha to Turkey. Let us see how it unravels.
