I came across this account a while ago, I think they’re gay/bi since they’re mutuals with some normie gay guys. They have a lot of mental issues imo like most super online minorities. There’s a similar account, I can’t remember the exact username but it’s something like Bengal van Macrobia (?) ran by an AA guy with a Sudanese gf from Atl. This is the type of discussion where pride makes some Somalis look away, as they feel it is somehow shameful to admit to violence being perpetrated against them. On the other hand, you have misguided Arab-phile or left-socialist Somalis doing everything to absolve Arabs of any blame or autonomy.
Let me remind you, slavery did not rear its head in Somalia even during the worst days of the civil war because it is widely understood that, at the very least, you cannot enslave fellow Muslims. The fact is, Somalis, and other Horners and Black people in Libya, are being victimized, extorted, and subjected to sexual violence, plain and simple. Speak out against it, shine a light on it, and do not let the victims be forgotten. Islamic intersectionality means caring for all our problems, not prioritizing Arab issues while forgetting the struggles of Africans, Rohingya, and Uyghurs.
Meanwhile, we are expected to feel bad for Libyans who, let’s not forget, willingly listened to NATO advisors, fought, sodomized, and killed Gaddafi and their fellow Libyans with glee, ultimately turning their country into a wasteland.
One thing that personally broke my heart was an Eritrean woman in Scandinavia shaking and crying as she recounted the horrific conditions of her enslavement and rape. Am I supposed to turn around, ignore this, and shout "one ummah" with people who accept and perpetuate this?
I don't enjoy seeing Somalis dogpilled by others, and one would rather have her arguments dissected within our community, but one of us is wrong, they are wrong. Kafiya is fully wrong and the criticism against her are for the most part valid.
