He better not be pushing 'South-West' identity if he wants to be part of Puntland politics. This nonsense of carrying over your federal identity, as you live and vote in another one, is detrimental to federal politics. I also better not see this man, voting in South-West Somalia either. These things need to be added to 'voter fraud'. Otherwise, we will end up with voting block gypsy caravans moving around Somalia, messing up local politics.

Like the president Deni said, these people are Reer Puntland. They live, work and pay taxes there. They no longer have any ties to south west expect the fact they are originally from there.

Now that these people have set up base in Puntland, their best interest is in whatever the best interest is of Puntland.

Only trouble is, Somalis don't appreciate political maturity and solidarity. They see it as a sign of weakness. For instance, what's happening between LK and HG. One minute you think you can graze side by side, the next, they are plotting on your land.

I think this 1M1V needs to be discussed further, and Somalis need to be segregated for at least 100 years until people are taught basic respect for people's properties.

Somalis are expansionist by nature, waa uu fiirsaday. Some of us naively will see allowing anyone to vote anywhere as a 'win'. But secretly, and openly, Somali clans act like voting blocks, and openly discuss how their clan can be served. They don't care about local political advancement, or the interest of their host city. All they want, is to have as many seats as possible to launch one of their corrupt uncles onto the national stage.

I believe in giving people safety, peace, access to all social services. However, when it comes to voting? We need strict guidelines.

Exactly, he wants to encourage intermarriage, to get more access to whatever he deems is powerful for his people. I have learned my lesson to reserve a healthy dose of suspicion when it pertains Somali politics.

Let me ask you a question. What's the difference between Digil and Mirifle in Puntland and puntites who migrated to the south in the 1800s. Puntites migrated to the south and made tuulos and settled in Kismaayo and it's environs.

Today those puntites in Kismaayo and it's environs are seen as natives and gain their respective political rights. Whys the difference between them and Digil and Mirifle.
