I can't imagine the Muslims of the early days laughing at that. That people think it's something to laugh about shows the moral degeneration of today. It shows this moral relativistic attitude that modern society has pushed on people, this lack of strong differentiation between right and wrong.
what annoys me is that the US really has adopted this terroristic mentality when it comes to Russians.
it is wrong to harm innocent people, civilians, etc. this is part of why Al Qaeda ideology is wrong. their ideology holds that ordinary US people are responsible for the deeds of the US government, therefore ordinary US people are legitimate targets for violence. this is completely wrong, of course.
but the US has basically adopted the exact same mentality towards Russians. and then on top of that.... if it is legitimate to target ordinary Russians because of their government invading Ukraine- then what would that imply about the United States, given all the countries the US has invaded?
the people running the US are really leading the people off the deep end. it's wrong to go after innocent people whether they are from US or Russia.
