One of the main things that will come out of this is the lack of drones the Russian military has.
Ukraine where given something like 30 drones by Turkey and those caused havoc on Russian armored vehicles.
If Turkey can manufacture cheap state of the art drones then russia can do it also.
They need to stop investing in tanks and start investing in drones.
Russia could literally have won this in 2 days if they had drones.

They'd need to commit a lot of war crimes to quickly end this

War crimes is an iffy subject. From what I see, it looks like the Russian side is more professional, while the Ukrainian side is using civilians and other methods that have been outlawed. So not sure.
It's only been 9 days and there's quite a lot of death and damages done, another month of this and I think Ukraine is going to become a Failed State
Do you think this can be resolved politically?

If you don't think so, test it out: Buy a Ushanka, put a Russian pin on it, walk down the high street in your area, and you will be spit at if not beaten up in no time.
