You may be right, but the United States could probably have convinced Ukraine to give up claims to Crimea and Eastern Ukraine; the Western portion of Ukraine would then join NATO.

I personally suggested on a thread that the US should’ve done that as a response in 2015 or after the “independence declarations of Donbass”.

But realistically, the US liked the status quo best. They don’t have a need to have Ukraine in NATO, it’s dead weight and brings the threat of Russian invasion.

No chance lol, I doubt Russia even actually wants to directly administer any territory in Ukraine, they want it to be a Belarus 2.0, friendly to them and never a threat. The whole point is for them to not join NATO

Being a neutral nation is the best path for Ukraine

Another interesting point from a post in reddit which is the truth:

It’s really ironic that Russians are banned from sports and other sorts of competitions but when people refuse to play against Israel, it’s a shame and politics shouldn’t be a part of sports.

I’m not surprised though. Just impressed that very few people seem to notice the hypocrisy.
