Anyone can answer how Russia could respond to the sanctions it has been hit with.

Very curious because we all know how Russia supplies other european countries with oil and gas. It could stop supplying these essential and vital exports, thus making countries suffer.

In what others like the example above could Russia respond to sanctions.

The oil export industry supplies 30% of the Russian GDP, and funds 50% of the governmental action plans, comprising the military as well. Russia is therefore very dependent on selling that oil, stopping the trade is going to hurt them substantially.

The only thing they can do is to restructure, adapt to set new financial legislation and industrial and trade policies, including establishing other bilateral channels to cover the losses. Pleading the West for lifting the sanctions comes with conditions that undermine objectives the war objectives.

Placing sanctions on oil is not a good idea for the EU, a country like Germany, for example, imports 50% of oil needs from the Russian trade.
