Second phase of SNA offensive begins

Update on Budbud, strong attack from Shabaab. Three VBIEDs, all Shabaab infantry wearing suicide vests, hours of fighting.

The SNA are still in Budbud and have repelled them and they claim to haven’t suffered anything more than one fatality so far. But like we saw with galcad it takes a while for reliable news to come through and even if they repelled them they could end up withdrawing a day or so later which is what happened last time. But I doubt this as there’s too many troops on this front right now

Hormuud works with Shabab. Look at how quickly they turned off the telecommunication Mast when AS Launched their Attack on BudBud.

They can do that from xamar or the operator in that town does it?

I’m not sure. But what I’m hearing is that the Goverment is now in control of the town after AS exited the area taking with them several APCs and technical trucks. As expected they used several Vbieds to attack the base but what’s interesting is that they also used a dozen human suicide bombers wave after wave. The SNA in Mareeg & Ceelbuur are overstretched. They need to slow down their operations to considerate the gains made during phase 1. So Far “Phase 2” in the region looks more like a recapture of all the small villages lost in phase 1.

This isn’t even phase 2. It’s more so a completion of phase 1
. Also only recapture is Galcad town itself. Everything else is new territory that come under Galcad and Ceeldheer. Prior to this they only had the town Ceeldheer but all the deegans in the district had not been captured. I don’t think they should slow down. The only chance is now to put them in backfoot. Slowing down will only give Shabaab chance to regroup and plan

Why is the Army wasting their time building bases when the enemy is always on the constant move. The real question that should be asked is how do AS Manage to assemble 300 foot soldiers to attack Goverment positions when they’ve lost all the strategic towns minus Ceelbuur they previously used as reinforcement camps.

It’s well known AS has factories in Jilib to build their suicide cars but how many secret ones do they have in Galgadud & how did they get the Vbieds transferred to BudBud when SNA claims to have Ceelbuur front sieged from all directions land and sea.

Hormud cut off the line so soilders didn’t know what hit them. Even during the attack they couldn’t call each other to know of each others whereabouts and what the orders are from their upperman. Attack came from the north near derri direction but they managed to surround them apparently. Not much you can do when your getting attacked and your phone has no signal

@The Midlands already told us they keep
Moving from baadiyo side to another baadiyo side every time a town is captured from them and that’s where they assemble for an attack. Galgaduud has no troops out in the wild like the liyu police does when they hunt them or the Macawisley. The somali military in middle shabele and galgadud are all focused settling in towns like you said they’re not going after them more than max 20-25 miles.

So which Hormud again the one in xamar or the one in tahay town is cutting off the lines ?

I was assuming the tower was shut down from that town but we should find out how hormuud is killing our troops every attack like this.
These rumors were also being spread during the Galcad attack but people looked past it as it was an early morning attack so blamed it on tired troops who were ambushed. HSM should definitely look into this but I don’t think he can do much against the company unfortunately

The life of a Somali soldier is cash to some people. The Army should seize Hormuud’s assets and force them to provide continuous communication service to the Military until the terrorists are completely defeated. But knowing Hormuud it’s likely that they will employ AS white coats to take out the official’s who threaten their business. It crazy to know that a single corporation is more powerful than the central government.

True
The Gorgor,Eritrean and SNA troops are only trained to hold towns. They need some sort of Liyu police style force to roam the Baadiyo areas and shoot at first sight any threat they come across. Even the well revered Macawisley can do so much with limited capacity. The one who controls the countryside controls the battlefield plans.

I agree. There isn’t any strategic planning being done with the capture of Ceelbuur. You can’t just waltz through the territory like you did in s/dhexe or Hiraan. It’s their last major town in south central Somalia so there has to be a good plan in place. Saneey cabdulle men shouldn’t go past budbud in my opinion. Anything west of budbud is mursade goof and they should be accompanied by danab + Gorgor and also the Eritrean troops. The mursade know their lands best
Part of the problem is that Odowaa has ordered to stop operations past Waceysle border with Murusade.

The army needs to consolidate I guess and develop proper plan for Ceelbuur. But this will mean the return of suicide vehicles as Shabaab will have time to attack. Fortunately they held them off and suffered small amount of casualties

Lost one vehicle to a bombing but nothing more than 1 SNA soldier lost AUN. Very successful defence compared to past VBIED attacks.

SNTV however is very irresponsible, saying Shabaab have given their vehicles and equipment to Murusade/duduble elders in Ceelbuur and have given up on holding onto the remaining districts. No such thing is happening and the SNA should be prepared to a fight to the death. Every Shabaab fighter is a suicide bomber from here on out, they have nowhere else to withdraw to

This is one of the many attacks to slow down the celbuur headed offensive. First it was galcad then runirgood, darucnimca now bud bud. All involving government troops like gorgor and danab. There should be no plans of holding towns just move everywhere they run till they’re killed off completely. Sitting down and waiting for their next attack is just a bad idea. This towns are already ghost Most of their people are shabab or fled to xamar what’s the point of sitting there?

Hehe some people never learn. We heard these exact same talking points when we were in Cali Gaduud and Nuur Duugle. Then we had to listen to it again when we were in Ruun Nirgood, now we are in Budbud and we still hear same shuban, just different tone.

Forward we march, inshaAllah Ceelbuur here we come.
