I think it's gross to me personally, and I can imagine it being very detrimental on the man. And I also have a negative bias towards polygamy. The only reason why most people are in favor of polygamy is because it is acceptable in Islam. If polyandry was acceptable too, they wouldn't find it disgusting etc etc It's not about being consistent in a logical way.

If a man has sexual relations with his brother or father or grandmother, then obviously birth wouldn't be possible in such an arrangement---throwing the possibility of "birth defects" out of the window.
