No it’s not Halwa is not that similar to lokum but is is similar to Halva which is eaten in South Asia the Middle East etc every region has its own style

Somali. Xalwaad is pretty high tech modern stuff, the Indian old world halwa is made from grains and wheat

Ours is essentially a gummy candy , made from refined sugar and starch, also modern gummy candy being derived from Turkish delight

Seems like we have more cultural exchange with the Turks than we might’ve presumed
