Somali atheism on the rise

I don't even know why I got dragged into the circumcision debate, I don't have a strong opinion either way kkkkkkkkk

But this xoolo needs to stop equating incest with atheism, he's already admitted he would marry his own cousins :drakewtf:
:cosbyhmm: you need a nice Muslim husband. I can teach you a lot about Islam, it seems your time with the non religious Arabs has distanced you from Islam.:hemad:

The atheists here are so obsessed with us Muslims and we are supposed to be the intolerant ones. We literally beg for you people to stop mocking us. How very enlightned of you lot.

Couple other things. Circumcision for men and women is only Sunnah in Islam which means it is a choice at the end of the day, tho for males, it's I encouraged. Africa is mostly nonmuslim and majority of women are circumcized. Take eriteria, a majority Christian country for example.

Cousin marriages were hardly seen during the prophet's time. It is a recent phonemonon. The Quran merely implies that marrying your cousin isn't Haram. It's still a choice that people make making it optional like circumcision.

Lastly how many of you were born out of cousin marriages?:damedamn:

Might explain why you have chosen a deviant life.:mybusiness:

We ridicule your faith as a form of criticism but not the people who follow that faith, at least I haven't. If you can't separate yourself from Islam when it's criticised then you have no right to demand that everyone separate Islam from muslims when a lunatic blows himself up. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Plus, when the death penalty for apostasy and blasphemy is death I think it's kind of ironic to demand that everyone 'show respect' to your religion. Respect is earned and demanding I respect your religion when it demands my head is beyond ironic, it's idiotic.

Alhumdililah for Islam and Alhumdililah for the beautiful Quran. it's sad you don't know it's meaning.

How do you know we don't know its meaning?
:ayaanswag:

I have looked into Islam (Quran, Hadith and Seerah) and came to the conclusion that Islam is not rational, logically sound or is the prophet a moral example for me. Science played a role in freeing my mind from unverified dogma.

It's interesting that most of you are muslims as a consequence of birth but not due to attaining the supposed 'truth'.

How many apostates do we have on here? How many of you lot were threatened with murder? Anyone?

Islam only calls for the heads of apostates who turn around and mock and "redicule" Islam. One of the biggest themes in Islam to live and let live.

You folks aren't the first to go after Islam after you have left it. It's always happened. I have never seen an ex Somali muslim who minded his or her own business after abondoning Islam. They all come back, "we have to redicule Islam" as if that is a ritual or a step that you must go through.

And it isn't always abour apostasy. Some of you were saying using the Quran as a toilet paper is "criticism" just yesterday.

Somali atheists are the only atheists that go after their former religion and culture once they leave it. This always shocks me.

The same three athiests always waging cyber jihad on Islam :drakelaugh::chrisfreshhah:

Why couldn't they just stay in their corner, the religion board where they can justify their departure from Islam on the daily? :lolbron:

13 Muslim countries set the death penalty for apostasy whilst even more make it a crime. The Hadith never added any of the clause you added there, it's just an apologetic claim that has and is rebuked by the majority of scholars. Leaving Islam warrants death. Nonetheless, the fact that you justify warranting death for blasphemers is indicative of your seventh century thinking.

Criticising faith is a right that we choose to exercise just like muslims can stand around and spread their 'religion of peace' via dawah. Plus, how ironic it must be to get at us for ridiculing your religion when your religion itself ridicules others for what they believe as well as taunting them with eternal fire and calling others derogatory names. Please, get up off your high horse.

Because all ideas deserve criticism and Islam isn't free from such criticism.

I guess two things they will not sweep are engineering and science.
:rejoice::ohlord:Bittersweet.

Wouldn't have hoped to find this critique coming from a Somali in the comments of a Quran competition 'sweep' dominated by Somalis on a Somali website. S/O to that warya.

I myself was a former atheist (agnostic actually) and it took me a long time to understand that there are so many interpretations of the Quran and that there isn't just one way of following Islam. So some of you that are "criticising" Islam, know that you are criticising your contorted view of Islam.

Like the above user was saying, I don't have a problem with atheists but some of the ex-muslims on here talk about Islam far too often for people who claim it wasted years of their life. Surely, if you were so certain that Islam was complete bs you'd want nothing to do with it? And you're more than welcome to criticise Islam but quite often that is not the case, I never see any constructive criticism on Islam, it's always the same generic criticism that can be said about any religion so the intentions of your comments do seem rather ambiguous.

We're all going to die one day, humans will cease to exist, so why waste so much of your time hating a religion that you don't even follow, where is the logic in that? Ultimately, I've got love for everybody, Muslim, Jew, atheist, whatever your views may be, if you've got respect me, I'll have respect for you. We're all humans.

I will repeat what I said to another user. I honestly have no issue with you, I am simply criticising your beliefs. What you must do is separate yourself from your beliefs, if you choose not to do that then you're playing a game of hypocrisy. When bad Muslims do bad things, Islam should be separated from Muslims but when I do that and criticise Islam, you feel offended. Like I previously said, you can't have your cake and eat it.

Plus, the Hadiths are very clear on the penalty of blasphemy and the penalty of apostasy... Death!! There are Muslims killing apostates and blasphemers (13 Muslim countries hold the death for apostasy) on the command of the Hadith but you concern yourself with my criticisms? No ideas is above scrutiny, you can ridicule my atheism all you like (even though it's just a definition) and I'll invite you to do it because criticism is a positive thing and not something to be suppressed.

I very much doubt that you were ever an atheist. You lack analytical mind that is prerequisite for Atheism. For example, you claim it took you long time to realize that there are multiple interpretation of the Quran. I'm sorry but anyone with a half a brain could always discern that Islam and the Quran is open to interpretation. You only need to look at the scores of sects within Islam. And Islam is not just the Quran it's also the Sunnah and ruling of Ulema.
