Somalis have a knee-jerk reaction to Somali Christians because we've been fighting Orthodox Ethiopian Christian highlanders for centuries. Your mind just can't reconcile becoming "our centuries old enemy".

The first time I met a Somali Christian, I completely freaked out but I later apologized for my overreaction and we became just two Somalis shooting the breeze.

Some of the Somalis on here who label Somali Christians as "Habeshas" remind me of Serbians labelling those who convert to Catholicism as "Croats" & vice-versa.

But is there much genetic difference between us and Habesha except language and orthodox christianity?

We were probably the same people before Aksum was converted to Christianity by Egyptian and Syrian monks.
