Since we owned the Maldives when we used to be a kingdom (Adam Sultanate times), our people have intermixed with the people native to the region. Their is probably lots of Somali DNA in the maldives, and the people don’t even know they have our dna
We had lots of Somalis in the Maldives, while we had control over it.Not really how it works.
There are lots of cases where a land is ruled by foreigners but there's no large migration that comes with it.

do we know how many somalis were in the maldives during the adal sultanate era?Indeed..
It is very difficult to change the ancestry of an already established population. Most of things that highly impacted the admixture levels in groups happened mostly in ancient times (Neolithic to Bronze Age).
The only areas of the world where relatively recent foreign rulers really impacted ancestry was in Latin America.
