Somali DNA in Maldives?

Since we owned the Maldives when we used to be a kingdom (Adam Sultanate times), our people have intermixed with the people native to the region. Their is probably lots of Somali DNA in the maldives, and the people don’t even know they have our dna :ohhh:

Not really how it works.

There are lots of cases where a land is ruled by foreigners but there's no large migration that comes with it.

Indeed..

It is very difficult to change the ancestry of an already established population. Most of things that highly impacted the admixture levels in groups happened mostly in ancient times (Neolithic to Bronze Age).

The only areas of the world where relatively recent foreign rulers really impacted ancestry was in Latin America.

Even if ~50 Somali elites ruled them for a bit and at the time the native Maldives South Asian population numbered in the hundreds or thousands, then there wouldn't be much Somali ancestry today in Maldivians.
