Somali mural art on shops?

ed is that a lot of the pictures on small somali shops have their own little charm. Has anybody looked into this ? I've only found one article on this where this guy in mogadihsu did the mural for 100 shops.
He's apparently also training more people. I really think this would be a nice foundation for a unique somali visual culture/graphic design. It's much better looking than those generic African style painintgs you see people in somalia do sometime .

These people have basically tainted African art. This kind of natural outgrown you see with the somali mural art is something that has potential aa long as these ngo types don't come along and mess with it.

So much of local culutral production in africa is nonexistent becuase of global competition and interference/sponsorship from ngo types.

This is common across Somaliweyn. Was the same in Bosaso. I have several pictures of that on my phone I'll post later.

It's common across all of Somalia, it's unique and brings life into local communities.

100%. The way I see it culutre production is sort of like manufacturing. In that if you don't protect these types of industries they will be destroyed and overrun by global culutral imports.

If the guy does train other local artists given a couple decades who knows what could come out of this mural art.
