I don't think he will act on it. He just used the occasion to get the message across. He has too much to deal with his plate before he can jumpstart the talks. He already has to deal with Saakin openly undermining our sovereignty, anarchists, and building up the army. This should be an issue for him in the 2nd term or whoever gets elected in 2020. Whoever handles the file needs to return to the negotiation table under better conditions.

The only x-factor will be UAE. I seriously doubt they will push for the SL recognition when they know they can control the whole country in 2020 with their bought stooges.

Hence their plan would be to sabotage Farmaajo's term if he's actually genuine.

Saakin is just a minor obstacle compared to what he'll have to deal with in the next 3 and half years.

Those are the periphery, he should focus on the core which is Xamar.

They started that process when the UAE ambassador left the country :mjlol: Farmaajo didn't accept their demands and the next thing you know Horusocod pops up with mps linked to UAE.

I don't think we should downplay Saakin's significance. He may seem like a minor player but he has his own handpicked federal mps and the port of Barawe. UAE is going for total domination of the shipping routes, and if they fail to acquire the presidency then they would protect their assets by splitting whatever they have from the SFG ala Yemen civil war.

Why not both? I'm sure his administration is hard at work dismantling the AS network and we saw it pay dividends with the arrest of AS's high-level operative of the Benadir district

Saakin is on his last leg and will probably lose his warlordship in a few years.

This whole Blackwater bs will most likely speed things up with more people interested in his precarious seat.

He's clutching the legs of UAE as a last ditch effort.

Won't help him with the amount of enemies he has. :stevej:

Farmaajo should instead be more worried about traitors in his inner circle.

They know that. This is why the traitors are gunning for Kheyre's position. They can actively sabotage his presidency with the pm post and hinder his implementation of his platform.

I also thought Saakin was on his last legs when his parliament submitted a motion against him but he managed to overcome it
