Congratulations to our young Ocean Stars, Back to back AFCON appearances.

The U17 World Cup is expanding and now Africa will get 10 teams. All Somalia has to do is finish in the top 10 out of 16 teams and we’re going to Qatar @Chaseyourdreamzz @El Nino

We must have some serious youth coaches because the level of youth player quality has just jumped up massively. We used to get slapped at these tournaments all the time, we came 3rd this year in both U17 and U15 remember CECAFA has 10 countries.

No football future in Somalia though I have to be honest, Ali Shiine needs to get these kids trials abroad ASAP. Last time there was lots of interest in players like Diini and Abdihafid from abroad but now they’re tuktuk drivers in Xamar.

only 3 out of the 18 man squad were diaspora, and one of them came just to be 3rd choice GK because we didn’t have enough. 2022 when we won CECAFA the entire squad was local.

This lineup for the semi final is 100% local. Bear in mind this generation is supposed to be kinda mid and we still came 3rd. A lot of the talent only comes through banaadir they don’t care for anywhere else outside there.

Bringing in young players to represent their country is a good thing, means it’s much easier to call them up to the seniors in the future. We can try to convince our best prospects to come to AFCON, they would definitely come to play in the World Cup if we qualified.

What happens to the reer Sweden kids they were scouting ? If these kids are mainly homegrown we are in a great position tbh I underestimated Somalias talent pool

Somali federation needs partnerships with European academies ASAP can’t let all that talent go to waste without proper opportunities

I think I know that. I'm talking about in 15-20 years time when Somalia is free from corruption and they put an effort into the Somali federation, than we can see the Somalia team prospering and actually qualifying to Afcon.

Senegal are the holders and their local academies (Generation Foot especially) is the best in Africa
Gambia also have a great academy system they won this tournament before and their best players usually go to Scandinavia
Tunisia are technically the next worst here and they got players in their U17s from Roma Monaco and PSG
