Somalia going back to AFCON U17! World Cup U17 is possible!

I was quite surprised when the commentator stated that there was a 14 year old starting for Somalia. Nonetheless, the u-17 for Somalia are starting to settle in after going 1-0 down.
they're keeping the ball well but they can't break them down at all. Let's just get into half at 1-0 and go from there

U17 and our men's national team need to take a break from competing for the next 10 years.

Let's wait until we have some actual solid players from europe and north america.

@Kisame the only way for Somali football to really improve is to widen the national scouting pool. A lot of players we have are either reer Banadir or reer Kenya kids who don’t cut it over there. Players from puntland somaliland Galbeed will never properly be a part of the team due to politics. If we had an actual football system we could teef a lot of Djibouti’s best players too, that’s what Senegal does with Gambia.

It’s so embarrassing that these guys let stuff like this get in the way of sports. You have countries like Yemen Libya Iraq which are able to host nationwide sporting events 🤣 they are really not much more stable than us.

There is no denying that nepotism occurs, however, the players do come from various locations within Somalia and not just Benadir. During the Tunisia match the commentator mentioned that one of the players was from Garowe, though I can not recall which one as of this moment. Development centers have also been opened in Baidoa and Kismayo. It is best that we do not spread misinformation within the Somali sports community. The Political section of this site is already filled with that.

I didn’t blame anyone, but two things can be true:
- The SFF does not care for anything outside of xamar
- SL and PL are actively harming the futures of their football players by not letting them go south.
In fact PL rejected to play maamul goboleed last year purely due to political reasons

Jubaland is the only state who can seem to separate football from politics in Somalia, they have good talent system over there and they don’t hesitate to send their boys to xamar. Also the kid youre talking about is from sool not garowe

They still play everywhere, PL players played for GM and ‘Dowlada hoose Burco’ last year. I’ve seen SL players playing in PL tournament im sure they probably play down south too. Nobody can stop these kids from what they enjoy.
