What is the plan? Where is this country headed? Will there be a dramatic shift toward self-sufficiency in the future, or will it remain a pawn, controlled by those who fund it? Have you ever wondered if these leaders have considered contingency plans for a major global crisis that could result in foreign aid being completely cut off?

How much longer will this country be babysat by foreign powers? If foreign aid were suddenly cut, the country would collapse in the blink of an eye. The only reason these regional governments continue to function is because of foreign aid; without it, the country would be on its knees. It’s a harsh truth. These politicians and presidents are nothing more than puppets, with no real power over foreign policy. The very funds that keep the country afloat are used to control them. Sitting in the presidential chair means nothing—true power lies with those who fund the country. Even if there were genuine nationalists who wanted the best for the
country, they would quickly be reminded of who holds the strings and whose interests they must serve.

A major global crisis that will could completely cut of foreign aid is more than likely. Ideal and constructive solutions to prepare for such an event likely havent been made. A Dramatic shift towards self sufficiency can be made, but only if they have enough power over foreign policy. Who will this new power be given to? To the uncorrupt new politicians who genuinely want to help the country and have a full laid out plan on how to do so. A secret society operating in the shadows funding the country is another worthwhile option.

Preparation for mass colonisation by Asians and cadaans.

One thing that irks them is that somali's citizenship can only be given through the lineage of your father. It is the greatest defence mechanism for Somalia and the somali people . The day this is overturned is the beginning of the end!

I dont mind cadaans as much since they're more egalitarian but asians however are ruthless

No, because it’s not in their self-interests. These officials left their comfortable lives in the west to Somalia and spent a fortune to bribe themselves in to these positions. They are not beholden to the people due to not being elected by the public, and thus have free reign to engage in corruption. Add to this Somalia has no constraining institutions.

I don’t see any positive strides being made unless this political system that facilitates corruption and incompetency is replaced, but even that requires some level of transparency that we don’t even have. We may be very well be stuck in a cycle.

This is why I hate Al Shabab so much.

Ethiopia is on our doorstep trying to colonise Somalis, and Al Shabab are still fighting Somalis out of their terrorist ideology. They are indirect allies with the Ethiopian government and any foreign enemy that wants to keep the Somali state weak and fractured. 100 years from now, they will not change and will continue calling Somali government as murtads, they will continue suicide bombings the capital city, they will continue being useless parasites only capable of destruction.

The opposite of a collapse would happen, without foreign aid Somalia will become less corrupt, more democratized and it will be forced to generate revenue domestically which will make it more accountable to the local populous.

If you don't deliver in most countries, you are forced or voted out of office. In Somalia that doesn't happen in most place safe few exceptions, because you are sustained by foreign grants.

Somalia doesn't need aid. Puntland for example survives almost entirely on domestic revenue sources and based on reports i've seen online it has led to more democratization.
Last year 54% of their revenue comes Foreign Grants(basically aid), which was 354million USD

The rest are from Taxes , fees and costums which amount to 292 million and made up 45%. Most domestic revenue comes costums and trade which is basically them taxing the goods leaving and entering the country.

The other is from sales of public goods and services , basically they charge a fee for people using publicly available services this can be a variety of things like transportation, health care, utilities, licensing and permits , education, user fee from infrastructure, land sales, government run enterprises.

Sales, excise taxes which is basically government government taxing the sale/purchase of goods and taxing of products.

I think they make the least from from income, profit and capital gains taxes like 21 million of the total 292 million came from it and i am not sure how they collect this.

They actually don't need the foreign grants, it goes practically nowhere except into their pockets to keep them in place. And they can raise that amount of revenue and more domestically in a very short time but will most likely be held liable to Somalis and not to foreign actors if they did.

Anyone who is a destabilizing force and doesn't respect Somalis territorial integrity is an enemy.

It's not a judgement on Kenyans as a people, but their government policy direction and their position towards Somalia. They also have a longstanding defense pact with Ethiopia aimed against Somalia.
@Zak12

This is a better break down. What i highlighted above was for the FGS , it looks like Puntland doesn't take any foreign grants or aid based on this graph. It also don't get much domestic grants which is portion of FGS revenue allocated to regional states. It's revenue mostly come from taxing trade and other services.

Now it's not so surprising to me why it's the better functioning state out of the bunch.

Article of it's improved development

It gives more evidence for the fact that foreign aid money makes a government corruption worse and empowers illegitimate political office holders. What it ultimately does is weaken domestic accountability and undermines sovereignty.

This makes Puntland all the more a perfect base candidate for a civic movement to launch out from

What i told you about before:

I think with FGS and other southern federal states , the presence of Alshabaab justifies foreign intrusions/interventions and so it continues.

What will happen most likely is that the United states will stop funding FGS and Amisom and pull out troops. Which will give Somalis a good opportunities to win back control.

To test that theory, we would just need a strong leader willing to go against the interests of these foreign aid mafia groups, which would result in instant sanctions and cuts in foreign aid. But sadly, that will never happen. Anyone who sits in the presidential chair automatically gets put through the 'how to serve us' program without delay, and so far, it has worked on all previous presidents. The consistency of this pattern tells me I can forget about hoping for a leader brave enough to make moves like that

Reminds me of the time Congress was threatened with sanctions by the US for daring to delay elections again. And now, these same shackled people urge others to celebrate Independence Day. Crazy.

The liberation of the country and the eradication of these extremist, backward terrorists will never come from ajnabis; it is a task meant for the natives. One thing I know for certain is that if all the civilians across the country rose up, made revolutionary moves, and formed new national liberation forces, waging war against these extremists and fighting them wherever they are, giving them no respite from North to South, they would quickly be labeled as terrorists and a new terrorist threat Ethiopia then we would be back to 2006 again—more ajnabi intervention, more ajnabi bases. It has always been important for many foreign countries to keep Somalia weak. Somalia will never be allowed to become powerful enough to compete with Kenya and Ethiopia. Both countries are playing their parts in making sure of that, and it has been quite easy for them because they have people on the inside doing their bidding.

Many people also like to play dumb on purpose, ignoring that one of the main reasons the country is kept weak and under the foot of its neighbors is due to this لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ الله
