@0117 your only trade is serving Ethiopia and it can be cut off anytime. You have not developed or thought about local job creation. You have not exploited local resources if you had any. UAE built infrastructure to serve Ethiopia, they didn't build it for you.
You seem to forget Ethiopia exports more than $300M worth of goods to Somaliland annually. So this corridor will even out the significant trade imbalance and never stop
Stop trade with Somaliland will lead trouble for Ethiopian citizens that sell to SL depriving them from a market and also higher costs of importing if they were using Berbera before
As for job creation regarding the investment it's one of the main reasons why Berbera Economic Zone was developed which has already attracted foreign firms to set up shop.
An example would edible oil that will be repackaged in Berbera and sold across the horn to even your tuulos as it'll be more competitive than the current imports.
There are many firms in Somaliland that produce goods for the local economy and even to Puntland so I don't get your point about mass job creation.Could you give me an example from Puntland so I can understand and share the response you need?
Lastly, who benefits from the port and "road" development? Ethiopia or Somaliland?
Below is a diagram which illustrates the multiplier effect of the port investment. This doesn't include the positive impact on government operations by making simplifying customs to make trade easier and setting up the quality controls commission.
