1. Cement (even though we have the mountains)
2. Vegetables/Fruits (we can grow in our land as it is fertile)
3. Electricity (soon) - once again there is lots of solar potential in Sland
4. Khat ($300 million a year)

I do not think @Duke of Bohol understands Economics, we do not rely on Ethiopia, Ethiopia relies on us as consumers. We can easily turn around and tax them higher or say no thanks.

Electricity - they already supply a portion of Electricity, although it is extremely expensive, many people are now starting to use Solar and Wind energy
Khat - Kenya, and Yemen are both supplies as well, although Khat is not a necessity and we do not need to rely on it

Either way, Somaliland is self-sufficient. Ethiopia is the one who receives the income from these exports, however, they also need Berbera and we tax them on that too.

Between me and you it is clear who doesn't understand economics. How is Somaliland "self-sufficient" when it doesn't produce anything but imports and imports, relying totally on other countries? everything is imported in Somaliland apart from the meat (80% of livestock is gone) soon even the meat will be imported.

SL isnt even a percentage of the consumers of Ethiopia products, they wouldnt feel any "sanctions" of SL while SLs entire economy is geared towards Ethiopia
