Somalilands Future

Assalamu aleykum
In the last year i started with somali politics (specially somaliland). After the election i saw a splitted nation and specially my own clan HY is so angry that many of them are even against Somaliland (if the election was robbed or not, only the insider people and Allah knows, this is not the topic). There are now people who want to unite with somalia but i myself see this very critical for three main reasons. First of all Somalia is now a federal state who views somaliland as a part of this system like Puntland and co and Somaliland sees itself as the succesor of British Somaliland. The second reason Somalia is a failed State who is controlled by a Mafia which has no interest in his people. Beeing part of this failed State would only worsten our situation because we have enough Problems with our own Mafia. And thirdly Somalia is deep deep divided and why should somaliland (who is divided itself) be part of one of the most divided countrys in the world.
My Question to you guys is what is your Opinion on Somalilands Future. I would be glad if anyone has logical solutions for somalilands situation. (Sry for my bad english i'm from a non english speaking country )

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

Somaliland is part of Somalia and it will forever be part of Somalia.

two comments with out any useful inputs. I asked for solutions and your overall views for a future and not about ictiraaf brothers, so please answer appropriate to the question.

The Solution is for the brainwashed Jeegan authorities to stop this endless obsession for ICTIRAAF as it will never come and embrace Somalinimo.

You have to understand Somaliland has no future without ictiraaf since the whole project is based on ictiraaf. Perhaps you could ask a different question like does Somaliland region have a future as a federal state?

Yes but that is exactly my question. If Somaliland views itself as Country and Somalia views Somaliland as a federal State who should be incorporated in Somalia how can this two come together in a realistic Szenario ?

Please talk like a mature and stop that jeegan bulshit-talk. Your first comment was a provocation without answering the question and your second comment is not better. Also you talk about somalinimo and your slogan is darodism ?

It's impossible saaxib, we have different political systems, we are economically, politically independent from Somalia, we are not doing the best at the moment but we have isolated ourselves from them.

The important thing for Somaliland is that we are not ruled or governed by Somalia, they can't enforce anything on us. It's simply continue to improve the country little by little. We enjoy more freedom that the other states and can enter into bigger deals because of it.

Somaliland is already legally part of Somalia. There is nothing to in cooperate. Isolationism only hurts Sland region in the longrun. In reality Somaliland is not much different than Puntland, Jubaland etc. So how can it be a "country" ? just because some secessionists say it doesn't make it true.

you are right brother we have more freedom but somaliland is restricted in some areas due to lack of recognition. The only thing that could stop the restriction is a united Nation where the little ressources a shared fairly which is not the case. Secondly somaliland has only one major investment and that is the berbera deal which nobody really knows about. If you are arguing that somaliland should stay in this status quo than you must mention the things that have to change for that.

You are right, there is absolutely nothing to cooperate with, Somalia itself is divided, they have no means of enforcing Somaliland to their law and constitution. Somalia has a terrorist organization to deal with, things are looking good for Somaliland in the long run if you ask me.

These past years, Somaliland has served Somalia the biggest L's with political controversy, the more we stay in de-facto rule the more legitimacy we have.

Our president Muse Bixii even with his flaws is the most legitimate Somali president in the entire horn, he was elected by the people. Unlike Somalia where the highest bidder wins. It's not logical, or even a possibility to rejoin corrupt Somalia.

Your government, the Somali government works together with Al-shabab.

It's easier than you think, these past years Somaliland put themselves on the map, we are have achieved unheard of things for a de-facto, breakaway, unrecognized state.

We have a foreign military base being built in Berbera, it will be done in June 2019. With it will come military security in the region. Our army will have more resources to enforce Somaliland law both onshore and offshore. There will be a 800km coastal surveillance system implemented. So security-wise we are heading for a better future.

Economy is rough in Somaliland, the Berbera port deal is okay and will improve our economy but it will take a while before we see the effects. The economy while still being bad is improving by every year, it's like I said. Little by little.

The more we establish ourselves the more legitimacy we have, we don't need recognition being independent is enough. Recognition helps a whole lot though and would speed things up.

Simply staying the way we are and improving little by little is enough, we don't need Somalia.

@Lordilord the relevancy you often mention is because Somalia as a whole, since 2011 (Erdogans visit) has become relevant and has started improving.
Improving where? Don't come with bullshit, Somalia is the most corrupt country in the world.. The highest bidder wins, what improvements?? We both know the corruption is deep rooted regardless of some economical improvements.

When there is real change in Somalia, come argue with me then about Somaliland rejoining because then at least you can bring up good point as to why it will be beneficial for Somaliland to rejoin.

SL is not perfect but the SL government is more trustworthy than yours. Basically you want us to be united in corruption.

thats very untrue.
1) Somaliland is 'de-facto' recognized as a country but the 'de jure' as part of somalia don't confuse that.
2)Somalia has no authority over Somaliland wether it is legislative, exicutive and judicative Somalia hasn't even authority over Xamar which is protected by 30000 foreign soldiers.
3)Somalia is a FAILED STATE how could Somaliland lose anything when Somalia can't unite its own people this makes really no sense
So yes Somaliland has to be incorporated.

i agree sland made good achievement in certain areas for example the they built basic structures of a state but the question i have to you is: what are the condition of the berbera port deal if you know them and why do you consider it a good deal ?
