tfw you have an Arab name

:tocry:

There's such a thing as deed poll isn't there, where you can legally change your first or last name? It would be a headache though, because all you official documents would have to be changed.

I've thought about changing my name as I don't like it because it's generic and common among Somali males to the point of stereotype and I always wanted a Somali name.

Most young somalis who immigrate from Somalia leave the religion and copy the western culture. I've seen a lot of them who starts drinking , wearing chains , marrying white female and becoming atheist... Go to switzerland or italy and you will be shocked..
I was born in the West and I don't do none of those things.

I've been to ethiopia for couple of months. And also visited sool and cayn frequently

I've attend islamic boarding school for my first 2 years in borama. In borama we had a huge diaspora community. Most were from minnesota. I've finished quran in 2 years and started secondary in borama. The school followed the cambridge curriculum and was really good education.

But instead of getting a somaliland degree I applied for a Somalia Degree from muqdisho.

I had no access to internet for 3 years lol

:chrisfreshhah:Anti-Arab atheism is hilarious.

Trying to recreate this version of pure Somali culture that has no Arab influence out of your hate for Islam:bell: Identity Crisis and PTSD is a hell of drug.

Why would I keep a name that has ties to a religion that I don't believe in? We get it, you're a ultra-conservative religious guy. You can stop working overtime on this thread now. Go clock out warya.
You can do whatever you want but trying to claim that Arabic names in Somalia are some recent "Wahhabi" invention is something you made up to rationalize your hope to hold on to Somali culture while hating Islam. Sounds schizophrenic.

Wallah some people have peanut sized brain on this forum. Man said "go please your masters" when you want to revive Somali names.
:mjlol::dead::drakelaugh:
So according to you geniuses the only time Somalis were not "Arab booty clappers" is the good old days when they worshipped Waaq?:chrisfreshhah:

Tell me more about this theory Bill Maher.

You can only change here by a royal decree and it is expensive. It will cost you around 1000euros for every letter that's being changed.

I'd never change my name into a western one lol I'd stick to somali

I'd change my surname just to troll my dad tbh but I wouldn't want to give him diik kaar in the process :chrisfreshhah:

I quite like my name.

I don't know any Somali who changed their name, but I completely understand someone changing their Islamic name, whether for ideological or business/professional purposes

What the f*ck are talking about? When did I say these names were recent or even wahhabi? Also not all Somali culture has to do with Islam. Let me guess, you're the type that believes that without Islam -- Somali culture is nothing? Schizophrenic? Please don't use words that you understand.

Thinking of changing my name as ahmed sounds like someone who's a terrorist :chrisfreshhah:and am not a muslim .
