Somalis to be the largest ethnic group in Kenya in 20 years

Yeah but the most successful Somalis I know are Reer xamar or half Reer xamar.

Eastleigh was founded in 1921. At this time, it was formally called Nairobi East Township and was mostly populated by Somalis who had moved from the Ngara Plains.
Eastleigh was originally a large Kenyan Asian enclave until independence in 1963. In recent years, the suburb has been dominated and almost exclusively inhabited by Somali immigrants.
Its cosmopolitan ambiance provided the template for its 1990s transition into the single most diverse and energetic commercial hub of its kind across the greater Horn of Africa region.
haha ok bro, if that makes you happy go with it. Let go of the tribal thinking, saying my tribe is most successful and boasting of your tribe, I never knew this of the reer xamar.

"It's better to say, you have a donkey than to say your dad has a car" Somali proverb
It's a nice proverb, and now imagine boasting about your tribes achievements.. even worse imo.

They're also taught family planning, have much higher literacy rates, and are more educated.
Bantus in Somalia arent taught family planning, aren't educated, and much more poorer than Somalis and Kenyans. Bantus are growing in Somalia no doubt but so are the Somalis, I really don't care of this so called expansion. I didn't say that..

Somali Kenyans culturally and religiously reject family planning. It's part of the culture to have many kids, and that region is still tribal.

You're wrong to assume that because they're both bantu, they'd have same culture.
The Somali bantus are a marginalised, ex-slave community that are muslim while the kenyan bantus are completely different.

I've met many kenyan bantus, they are very reer magaal tbh, I think due to influence by the british. They had HIV epidemic in their regions and made contraceptives and family planning popular.
Thanks didn't know Kenyans were doing that well.

But my point still stands.

Somalis have the second highest birth rate in the world, there is no Bantu country in Africa that has a higher birth rate, so why do you think that Bantus in Somalia are an exception without statistical evidence? No doubt, Bantus in Somalia are increasing but so has ethnic Somalis at the same or higher rate.

Personally I think Somalis need to implement family planning and contraceptives back home. Our country won't be able to handle 50 million people, all our gains in economic growth will be reversed due to population growth, we won't be able to self sustainable in food etc.

The bantu somali rate of growth is independent from other Bantu countries is all I'm saying.
The bantu somalis are increasing and so are somalis as well, both at much higher rates than other african countries. I can't comment on who's increasing more, all I know is they're BOTH giving birth to a lot of children.

They can't replace us and take our lands, that's just irrational fear on SSpot.

But how do you know? Did you record the family sizes of hundreds of Somali Bantus, average it, and compare it to Bantu countries?

You actually believe that you can draw correlations of the Somali bantus to Kenyans kkk.

From the same link you sent, once upon a time Kenya had a fertility rate of 7.9... You can wonder what changed that; education, family planning and contraceptives. All of which are even harder for Somali bantus to access.
Let's agree to disagree..

The Degodi and Garre clans reside in North Eastern Province. Mandera being a garre region, Wajir being a degodi region and Garissa being ogaden region.

It's odd that everyone knows that the Ogaden live there, it must be because they worked with Kenyans and were controlling NEP. Garre clan are actually more than Ogaden clan in NEP specifically.

There's a Somali man who went to Ethiopia to visit family. While there he fell for this habesha christian women and decided to marry her and brought her to Canada.
He had kids with her, and unfortunately he died. Although she would say her kids could follow whatever religion they wanted when he was alive, she now raises them to be orthodox christian and takes them to church.

Not very true. Ogaden is the biggest subclan in NEP. Maxamed subeyr (Ogaden) live in Wajir too. Mareexaan live in Mandera too together with Garre. There was a demographic from before the civil war. I will try to find it and get back but it was definitely Ogaden making up almost half the Somali Kenyan population

As of 2015, the North Eastern Province has a population of 3,510,757 residents.[10] It is almost entirely inhabited by ethnic Somalis. The Somali clans 1950 estimation in the area are the Ogaden 133,536, Garre, 127,230 and Degodia Almost 100,400.[3][11]

It shows that the OG number and Garre number are very close in population back in 1950.
Unless more OG from Ethiopia joined NEP, then im not sure..

Thanks @GeKo

Reer Xamar are not known for being business-savy, they are known for selling xalwos and macmacaan.

warya why are you hating on my fellow reer xamaris .is true they sell the best xalwa and macmacaans .they are also bussiness savvy for your info they still have businesses all around xamar to barawe .they have contributed alot to somalia .

I would say the ogs from Jubbaland fled heavily to that region too. The demographic might go back to what it was if they return to Jubbaland. There are many from kililka too but not as many as the reer waamos from jubooyinka.

Also the Numbers are more like this and they are from 1989 (ogs are still around 40-45%)

Somalis all together (312 000)

Degodi: 100 000
Ogaden: 139 00
Hawiyah: 27 000
Other Somalis: 45 000 including Garre

Garre is not as big as you are claiming. They are not more than degodi and definitely not more than Ogaden
