I've been observing there are so much Eritreans fobs in UK now they are taking over since 2015, question is how did they afford to pay for the journey when Eritrea is one the poorest country in Africa?
Somalis are poorer and we made it to US, UK, Canada, etc.

It
Because Somalis were fleeing from civil war and state collapse. What are Eritreans fleeing from it's one of the most peaceful countries in Africa
Dictatorship I guess ? Same can be said for Djiboutians who live in mass numbers in Canada and France running away from the dictator geele who has been cracking down hard on opposition or anyone that’s speaks about the poverty issues.

Eritrea was part of Ethiopia in 1977
It doesn't matter if it was or never was they are still Habeshis who would support Habashinimo over Somalia one of top generals for Ethiopia in that war was in fact a Eritrean. Eritreans and Ethiopians have disagreements but on one thing they can agree on is gumeeysi over Somaliweyn.

theh were fighting Ethiopia at the same time as us and held off a 80 thousand Ethiopian army, they were brave and fought the Abyssinian empire for 30 years.
I believe they and Tigrai paused their fight with Ethiopia during the '77 War to fight against Somalia and then went back to fighting for liberation after.

no they didn’t, they were literally fighting along side us and sent aid to the WSLF when Xamar abandoned them.

they literally conducted a major campaign during Operation Lash in the 80’s when Somalis were being genocided to relieve them. I don’t know why you want to lie

By 1977, the EPLF was poised to drive the Ethiopians out of Eritrea, by utilizing a simultaneous military invasion from the east by Somalia in the Ogaden to siphon off Ethiopian military resources. But in a dramatic turnaround, the Derg managed to repulse the Somali incursion, thanks mostly to a massive airlift of Soviet arms. After that, using the considerable manpower and military hardware available from the Somali campaign, the Ethiopian Army regained the initiative and forced the EPLF to retreat. This was most notable in the Battle of Barentu and the Battle of Massawa.

In May 1978, using a newly completed airfield in Mekelle in neighboring Tigray, the Ethiopian air force began a campaign of saturation bombing of positions in Eritrea held by the ELF and EPLF. While many of the targets hit were military, the bombers also attacked towns, villages and animal herds. The ground offensive started in July, and in a few weeks captured all the towns that the ELF and EPLF had held in southern and central Eritrea. The second offensive began in November 1978, aimed at the relief of Massawaand the recapture of Keren. An even larger army was deployed, including large contingents of armor. On November 25–26, there was a huge two-day battle with the EPLF at Elabored, which ended inconclusively. However, the EPLF was badly mauled and decided to abandon Keren and the nearby towns, and withdraw to the mountains of Sahel, where the terrain was appropriate for a last stand. This was called the "strategic withdrawal." The ELF, which had taken the brunt of the first offensive, refused to pull out of the newly liberated areas. By continuing to engage the Ethiopian army, rather than retreat, the ELF ensured its military defeat.

It’s actually amazing how 800,000 troops were being thrown at Eritrea every single year and they still won. Laandhere moment

@Burqad I believe that was a small Muslim faction of the ELF in Massawa which is a Muslim area, but the vast majority of Eritreans supported Ethiopia and put liberation struggles on hold.

Read the Wikipedia article.

By 1977 EPLF soldiers had claimed all of Massawa save the port itself.[2] This included the main road used by the garrison for the transport of supplies from Asmara. Essentially the garrison was cut off by land and under siege.

On 23 December 1977, the EPLF began a strike through an open field towards the salt flats and port. Soviet warships began to shell EPLF-held portions of the town to prevent its occupation by the EPLF, especially the downtown areas.[2][3]The Ethiopian victory was attributed to the intervention of the Soviet Union on behalf of Ethiopia,[4] and the work of the Ethiopian airforce and naval artillery.[1] This defeat led to a withdrawal, dubbed the strategic withdrawal, into Sahel, the strategic, EPLF-held mountaintops around the town of Nakfa. This battle was also the beginning of direct Soviet involvement in the Eritrean War of Independence, which would continue in other battles.
