Sspot opinion on Eritreans

Some of my best mates, growing up in London, were Eritreans, Sudanese, and Ethiopians, and always had close relationship, more so of Sudanese & Eritreans, as most were Muslims.

In some ways, I found them too timid, if quiet for my liking. They do not seem to have the same entrepreneurial spirit, and adventurous streak as Somalis. Just last year, while in Cairo, I got a call from one of my oldest mates in London asking me to help his family who were stuck in Cairo, and could not get Covid-19 cert. to travel. It took half an hour to connect them with the Somalis in Cairo and get it done over the phone. It is as if they are too afraid of taking risks. Also lacking, I notice is that communal cohesion Somalis have, regardless of region or clique, where if you need something, you just find another Somali, and a resolution will be had. At least that had been my experience. You get the drift.

Nonetheless, nicest people all round.
