And really sad to hear something like this occured in Xamar. But this is the dark side of big cities you never know what/who awaits around the corner. I once read about an article on Hiiraan(site) about prostitution and rape epidemic in ragtag neighbourhood in Hargeysa. I was 14 I think when I read that article it compleatly broke my heart got the same feeling reading this story. God is the best judge walaal may he forgive you and give the girl justice.

It is what it is. I do not think it was the money which was the issue, weither she had it or not, I believed that it would have still happened!

What, no I totally agree with what you have done. you dont know whats out there, you did what you could and you know you would've stepped up if you felt she was in serious danger.

There’s a sexual exploitation epidemic targeting marginalized Somali women by the business class, home owners, and AMISOM in Mogadishu. More likely than not, reporting the crime to authorities will amount to nothing with the authorities having a spotty record bringing rapists to justice. If your inaction still bothers you, use your influence to do good. Raise awareness of the sexual exploitation, make a NGO to either help victims or a support group/co-operative to provide jobs to at-risk women, and in the future, use your political connects to sponsor a parliamentary bill that creates a task force to end the sexual exploitation.

If you want to do something about the injustice you’ve personally witnessed, fight the injustice culture that permeated in the city.
