Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf of Mogadishu mentioned by Ibn Hajar al Asqalani

In Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani mentions the Sultan of Mogadishu Ali ibn Yusuf ibn Umar ibn Anwar died in 1432 funnily enough Ibn Battuta mentions Abu Bakr ibn Umar as the ruler of Mogadishu in 1331. Can we assume that Ali ibn Yusuf ibn Umar who died in 1432 is the Nephew of Abu Bakr ibn Umar who was in the middle of his reign in 1331. Below is a coin of Ali ibn Yusuf which has been dated to the 15th century

Also could Zubayr ibn Umar be Abu Bakr‘s brother. It’s weird that we have no evidence for Yusuf ibn Umar taking the throne could both the above brothers have been childless and then Yusuf’s son Ali took the throne 🧐

There is also a certain Sultan Abu Bakr ibn Muhammad who reigned 10 years before The Abu Bakr ibn Umar mentioned by Ibn Battuta which further complicates things

There are coins of a certain Sultan Umar who is called Al Muzzafar which is weird since Sultan Ali Ibn Yusuf Ibn Umar was called Al Mu‘ayid ibn Al Muzzafar ibn Al Mansur Which made me think that Umar’s title would be Al Mansur not Al Muzzafar this is all really strange

We do not know how old the ruler of Mogadishu was when Ibn Battuta met him. Perhaps he was a young man
There are coins for Yusuf ibn Abu Bakr so maybe Ali ibn Yusuf‘s full name was Ali ibn Yusuf ibn Abu Bakr ibn Umar ibn Anwar and Ibn Hajar made a mistake by not including Abu Bakr in Ali’s Abtirsi

I like how the medieval somali Sultans had titles such as Muzzafar, Mustaqni' Bil Allah al-Akbar, Mansur, Fakhr ad-Din, Shihab ad-Din, Sabr ad-Din. Unlike the traditional Kunya which many arabs and non arabs use such as Abu Abdullah, Abu Bakr, Abu Muhammad etc.

Sabr Ad Din, Haqq Ad Din, Shihab ad Din, Mansur Ad Din, Jamal Ad Din, Sa’ad Ad Din, Shams Ad Din : Adalite Sultan
Al Mua’yyid, Al Muzzafar, Al Mansur, Al Mujahid: Mogadishu Sultans

Al Maqrizi says Aboor ibn Hajar says Anwar

It is mentioned that Abor is not Anwar

I know that book was written by Al Maqrizi Aboor and Anwar could have been confused

Abu bakar ibn umar is mentioned by another scholar
His full name is Abu ibn umar ibn othman ibn haji isma'il
So he's not related to ali ibn yusuf ibn omar ibn Aboor (or anwar).
