This is basic heraldry for you, A flag or coat of arms comes from the blazon, not the illustration. The blazon, as you may know, is a description of the flag, and it is up to the artist to interpret it. The fact is, nowhere in the officiall blazon is Italian influence mentioned.

According to the official blazon the blue color comes from the United nation flag and the star represents the five parts of Somaliweyn. Anything outside this is speculation and cheap conspiracy theories.

Bad argument really. All African countries except Ethiopia created new flags that had no significance before independence. Somalia did the same.
The guy who made the flag explained the meaning in detail. It was inspired by Italy he would have said so as somalia was an Italian ally after independence and most people in the south liked Italians. No legitimate source ever mentions this.
This is like saying Indonesia got it's flag from the Netherlands by removing the blue part. Indonesia was a dutch colony

That's not dark as the national blue color of Italy is Azure or Savoy azure which happens to be the color of Somalia's flag which resembles the former Italian coat of arms of the country.
