I hope Somalis think deeply before electing another Hawiye president again. We can't predict the future, but we can certainly use the past as a guide. Hawiye have failed Somalia.

Hawiye are in this position because of carta 2000 and Cairo 97, Egypt managed to persuade the neighbouring states to accept a hawiye led Somalia no matter how unrealistic it sounded, and its from here that puntland and federalism was born, to check hawiye designs on the rest of Somalia. And all of this was possible due to D5 internal strife.

in short, for things to be fixed, there has to be a round 2 and a tipping of the scale in favour of one side (not advocating for violence it’s only a theory)

The Darod-Hawiye civil war in the 90s ended in a stalemate due to internal divisions in both camps. Also, the unique scenario that triggered it, the Darod Nakba (USC committing a genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Darod inhabitants of Mogadishu) will not return as both clans have segregated themselves ever since. So, fighting is unlikely to ever return. What were left with is a stalemate with no obvious solution. Hawiye won the capital but refuses to lead competently, Darod wants to lead but because they don’t have the capital they’re limited in what they can do.

Hawiye had the upper hand clearly but they failed to form a consensus and rule the defeated Darod, instead choosing to perform Nakba on them and then massacring each other - proving the point of the thread: HAG (+Non MJ Darod) incompetence.

Alshabab and the ICU were not that far from each other. Both were born out of Ittixaad and represented two different faces of the same coin: the pragmatic, realpolitik Sh. Shariif type and the unapologetic, apocalyptic Ceyrow/Abu Zübeyr/XDA camp.
I agree that this government is inherently a foreign project - that's why it will never work. International community and Alshabab (which is undoubtedly more foreign than the government) are just prolonging the strive.
I agree with what you had said earlier that the only savior can be an Islamic political entity that can replace clan identity

The only option is for hawiye and daarood to cooperate on basis of mutual interests for the country to go forward.

This isnt even accounting for the SNM-Derg relationship.
