Been like this ever since I hopped on twitter in 2016.
Every ethnic community engages in gender wars so I'm not as bothered. I am annoyed about the fact we don't really have any positive rep on social media.
Depending on xalimos to help uplift our image is a bad idea as well cause all it takes is for one tweet from a traumatized xalimo to go viral. Ajanabis pay attention to all the fgm, leaving Islam, and forced marriage stories xalimos put out. These stories won't disappear anytime soon anytime soon cause we still got a bunch of horrible parents that are traumatizing kids.
Besides beta squad and mo farah we got no positive rep in media. Xalimos got models, and news reporters representing them in media.
It will take another generation of young somali men to change our image in the diaspora.
Because they have eurocentric features that they play off as AA.
Positive representation is definitely needed but I think Somali men should focus more on wealth and brotherhood. They also need to stop simping.

Gen Z and millennials are currently doing that. We will literally be the wealthiest gens of somalis until the next gen gets older.
The children from our gens will be raised in wealthier households than us with Westernized parents who will actually support their children's hobbies. We will have way more actors and musicians in the next few generations.
Also in regards to the simping issue that won't really matter in the future. The next gen somalis in the diaspora most likely won't be as religious as us so the young somali men will definitely start dating a lot earlier than our gen. Why simp for xalimos if you know you can pull women from other ethnicities.
